The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has provided additional funding to five more African countries as part of its response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis.

This raises the number of countries receiving IMF funding to 35, structured as a mixture of debt relief and direct funding.

Of these, 20 are getting debt relief under the Catastrophe Containment and Relief Trust (CCRT) platform, which backs low-income countries hit by catastrophic natural disasters and public health disasters.
